Overland Park auto accident injury lawyers know how dangerous busy intersections can be. When one driver negligently fails to yiled the right-of-way and turns in front of another vehicle, the resulting injuries are often devastating to those involved. Intersection crashes in Overland Park and elsewhere in the Kansas City area often lead to serious personal injuries which may result in permanent disability, disfigurement, or scarring.
Johnson County and Overland Park auto accident injuries often lead to lost wages, medical bills, and future medical procedures requiring assistance by an experienced Overland Park personal injury attorney to recover damages against the negligent parties. Non-economic damages may also be recoverable, and in instances where a negligent driver was texting or intoxicated, punitive damages may also be available.
This story is interesting because it involves the first look at a new type of traffic light. It will be interesting to see if Overland Park police officers monitor the intersection and issue red light violation tickets for Overland Park Municipal Court.
Overland Park, KS - Carl Vanwinkle likes the blinking yellow arrow.
He thinks it may have helped avoid a vehicle accident that caused him serious injuries and changed his life. Carl was a passenger in a car that was broadsided in March 2009 at the intersection of 127th Street and Antioch.
Flashing yellow arrow left-turn displays have been adopted by the Federal Highway Administration and the Kansas Department of Transportation. The system is a new national and state standard for permissive left-turn operation.
